PROJECT: BC TRAILS DAY AND BC RIVERS DAY SUB-BRANDS
ORCBC works to protect the outdoor spaces where we recreate by improving access to wild space and promoting reconciliation through trail-building work, outdoor recreation projects, and collaboration with Indigenous communities. They came to us to create sub-brands for two events that promote responsible recreation in the outdoors: BC Trails Day and BC Rivers Day.

The brief asked for something fun, inclusive, and action-oriented. It had to align with the ORCBC brand palette and fonts, yet stand alone.
We illustrated two logos made up of land-based icons (for Trails Day) and water-based icons (for Rivers Day) that represented all the ways we recreate in these places, making sure that almost anyone who spends time outdoors can see themselves in at least one of the icons.
We coupled these with a rough-around-the-edges, playful font that feels gritty and organic—a tribute to Mother Nature herself.
The two sub-brand colour palettes are intentional collections of bright and playful accents designed to complement ORCBC's main colour palette.
We built out a set of brand guidelines to give these two sub-brands their own solid foundations, then created a series of branded templates for social media to support ORCBC in promoting its events.
